Adopt an Acre
High quality maintenance is an important way to protect Woodland Lake Park. Save Our Park raises funds annually to support the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside’s maintenance of Woodland Lake Park. Adopt an Acre was created to involve as many residents, visitors, businesses, and institutions as possible in supporting this critical activity.
Adopt an Acre is beginning with the current 107 acres but will expand as more acres are acquired. Specifically, residents, visitors, businesses, organizations, and institutions have the opportunity to “adopt” a particular acre or acres or to sponsor the program. Acres are priced based on estimated maintenance costs for different types of areas. For example, maintenance of a trailhead or playground costs more than other types of areas.
Donors will receive regular newsletters and invitations to park events and volunteer opportunities. Sponsorships to support Adopt an Acre are also available to businesses, organizations, and institutions at various dollar levels. Annual reports and evaluations will report progress and next steps to the public annually.
Note: Park land cannot be changed in any way by a donor. Adoption donations are used for Town-led maintenance only.
How does it work?
Donors select an acre from color coded acres on the map (as shown below) and make annual donations of $50, $200, or $500 per acre at this site.
- The blue acres are worth $50.
- The green acres are worth $200.
- The orange acres are worth $500.
Save Our Park is a 501c(3) entity. Donors are asked to renew their commitments yearly. In turn, certificates showing “their” acres, and tokens of appreciation (such as buttons, bumper stickers, and t-shirts).
People can also donate in honor of others.
Is donor information public?
Donors and honorees will be listed in publicity, on this website, and on park kiosks. Names are public unless anonymity is requested.
